The Glenwood Marching Band dominated their competition, which took place at GCHS October 7. Eleven bands were in attendance, including 1A, 2A and 3A schools. Glenwood’s band took first place, outplaying and outscoring Harlan’s marching band.

Senior Drum Major Devin Geeser said, “The band needs some work in discipline, and a little more confidence when playing and marching.” However, he feels the whole band is prepared for the State competition, which will take place Saturday, October 14. Glenwood will be performing at 2:30.

Marching band participants have worked extremely hard this season. Morning practices are held every morning starting at 7:30 and lasting until the end of first hour. Every week, each section of instruments holds sectionals to practice for competition.

Geeser is confident in the band’s capabilities to receive a Division 1 rating at State.
