E3 2021 has officially been confirmed with Nintendo, XBOX, Ubisoft, Capcom, and Konami all showing off their upcoming titles. I am very excited for this, and thought I would talk about my predictions for the show.

There’s already a lot of theorizing for Nintendo’s presentation. There are three games on the top of everyone’s mind that are expected to show up during it – Breath of the Wild 2, Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4. All three of these games are ones that we haven’t had any info on for quite a while. If any of them are going to be shown, it’s gonna be BOTW2. It’s perfect timing for Zelda’s 35th Anniversary, and it theoretically should be finishing up soon. Personally, I don’t expect to see the other two at all, and if I were you, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Other games that Nintendo are more likely to show off are Splatoon 3, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and a couple of The Legend Of Zelda related things. Splatoon is something that is definitely just assumed to happen, but I would say it isn’t a shot in the dark. Pokemon normally gets more information received at E3, especially considering they always release during the Christmas season each year. The Legend Of Zelda is more than likely going to receive some old ports, like Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, or Ocarina of Time.

There have also been a lot of rumours about a Nintendo Switch Pro reveal at E3. Leaks have been popping up consistently for a long time and have only become more prominent in the past 6 months. Personally, I have no opinions on whether or not this gets revealed, so we’ll move on.

The next major publisher at E3 is XBOX. I strongly expect that we get something for the brand new console, the XBOX Series X. With the Playstation 5 selling 2.9 million more units, Microsoft will have to pull something out we didn’t expect. After acquiring so many studios, there has to be some new IPs, I guarantee it.

It goes without saying that Halo: Infinite is extremely likely to appear at the presentation. I also expect the new Fable game to be shown off along with Starfield and Forza Horizon 5, and I’m hoping for a trailer on the Perfect Dark remake, which I would love. Since Microsoft bought Bethesda this year, it is also likely we’ll see an Elder Scrolls VI reveal, or Fallout V.

Next is Ubisoft, and my predictions for them are small. I’m not a Ubisoft fan in the slightest, but I do think I can guess a couple things. We’re definitely getting info on the Immortals: Fenyx Rising DLC, another Far Cry 6 trailer. I assume we’ll get more content for their ongoing games like The Division 2 and Rainbow Six Siege.

Next up is Capcom, and I really want to see what they have. I’m expecting something on Monster Hunter Stories, the Resident Evil 4 Remake, and something on either Mega Man, Ace Attorney, or both. Obviously, I don’t really know what to expect, but I do love the publisher and what they do.

Konami is the last one I feel like talking about, and I don’t think they can redeem themselves. Konami’s had some bad controversies for a long time now, examples being when Silent Hills was cut, Metal Gear Survive was released, and when they restructured the company. I absolutely do not expect anything that will make them be relevant again. There have been rumours about them outsourcing a Silent Hill game and some other franchises, although I’m not hopeful.

Now, these are all general predictions; things that I do believe are going to happen. However, there are a lot of things I want to happen that I think are less likely.

For Nintendo, I’m dying for another Wii Sports style game, and I do believe a lot of people want that. I also want to see Super Mario Odyssey DLC, which isn’t going to happen considering it’s been almost 4 years since the game released, and since we just got a new 3D Mario game. The entire Animal Crossing community wants Brewster for New Horizons, and I couldn’t agree more. One of the things I probably want most from them is something about Fire Emblem, as Three Houses is one of my favorite games of all time. However, Hollow Knight is my favorite game ever, and If we get news on Silksong, I’ll be happy.

For XBOX, I really want to see them return to some of their old exclusives. Crimson Skies was a fun plane game on the original console, and there is a following for the game. Since some third-party games will be shown off at their presentation, I would kill for anything about Bioshock 4. Even if it’s just a teaser trailer or announcement, I’d be so happy. I don’t think it’ll happen, but it would be an amazing reveal.

Again, I don’t care about Ubisoft; I have absolutely zero cares about what they reveal. Unless they reveal some in-depth JRPG (which is not Ubisoft’s thing), I won’t remember their performance.

I already mentioned that I do want to see Capcom, but I think everything I want to see I already mentioned. I just want Ace Attorney and RE4 Remake news.

Konami is the last one, and while I don’t like them very much, I can’t deny I like some of their franchises. If we do get something on the Silent Hill franchise, I’d feel a bit better. However, what I’d like to see most of all is a Castlevania game, because I grew up on that series.

Overall, I think it will be a fine E3. I generally like these kinds of things more than everyone else, so don’t let me influence your opinion at all.

I also want everyone to remember one thing. Hope for the best, but brace for the worst. It’s fine to imagine what you want, but do not expect it to happen.
