Glenwood Football Team Falls to LC at Homecoming

The Varsity Football team was formidable against the Creston Tigers and beat them 21-14 even though they fell short against the Lewis Central Titans 42-14.

Head Coach Cory Faust was positive after the game because people can always get knocked down but what counts is if you get back up.

“I’m always disappointed when we don’t win or when we don’t have good attitude, effort, preparation or character,” said Faust “but I think there are a lot of positive things to build off of that game. Like I’ll tell our guys again today, even champions get hit. They actually get hit a lot, as do all people. What makes a champion a champion is the ability to keep going when they get hit.”

The team still has an inexperienced duo in the backfield with sophomore quarterback Tate Mayberry and sophomore running back C.J. Carter.

“We just wanted to take everything they were going to give and not be greedy,” said Mayberry “At halftime we tried to mix in more passes and put up a few quick scores but were unable to execute. Yes, we made lots of simple mistakes and need to fix them if we want to make a run deep into the playoffs.”

The team will face the Carroll Tigers on October 2
