The following is an announcement regarding meals provided by the school.

Dear Parents and Staff;

During the school closure, the Glenwood Community Schools Nutrition Services Department has provided an opportunity for families to drive through or walk up to pick up meals for their families at 2 of our school sites.

Starting Monday, March 30, 2020, the GCSD Food Services Department will start providing meals to parents or guardians without the children present in the vehicle. However, State agencies require us to have a plan for ensuring that we are able to maintain accountability and program integrity.  Parents can still have children in the car if they choose, but it is no longer required.

Should parents/guardians choose to pick up lunches without their children being present, they need to fill out the SFSP Meal Distribution Form attached to this email.  Forms will also be available at the two sites serving lunch.  After completing the form, parents will be provided a dash card that will correspond to the number of meals you will need each day.  This reduces the need to communicate in close proximity and helps us maintain social distancing as much as possible.  Just show us the card and we will bring you the number of lunches necessary.

Also starting Monday, March 30, 2020 meals will be distributed between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm in the front of each school building. Monday you will receive 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts per child, Wednesday you will also receive 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts per child, Friday you will receive 1 lunch and 1 breakfast. Please stay in your car and wait for the meals to be brought to your car and passed through the window. You will be given a number of meals based on the number of children in your car ages 18 and under. Sites will be closed on Tuesday and Thursday.

Menus are being discontinued due to product availability.  We will still provide nutritious meals that meet USDA requirements.

Thank you for your continued support during this time and while we can’t deliver meals to our kids in the country, maybe the country can now come to us.
