The volleyball team has begun their 2019 season by playing against Ti-Center, Harlan, Red Oak, Atlantic, Clarinda, Shenandoah, and Denison. The team follows strict schedules and training sessions, practicing after school every day of the week that they don’t have a game.

We always prepare with energetic and fast paced drills to keep our rhythm at our pace to prepare for the next game,” said Head Coach Chelsey Hirt. “We will often scout the team we are facing next and practice our lineup against what we know they will run against us,”

Returning senior libero Jaeda Wilson is ready for the season.

“I am super excited to play all of the conference matches because we have an awesome conference, but I’m really looking forward to LC and Kuemper,” said Wilson. “Kuemper’s the defending 3A state champs, so it’s going to be a tough senior night, but it’ll be a good game nonetheless,”

The team members set personal goals for themselves as well as the rest of the team for the overall season. Hirt hopes the team makes it their best year yet with the teams strength and chemistry and that they will make it to the state tournament.
