Imagine loving all types of athletics, having a passion for running, a desire to coach and getting to do it as a career. Coach Bryan Diekmann, the new athletic enhancement instructor, loves coaching and playing golf. He also enjoys marathons and triathlons.

Diekmann taught seventh and eighth physical education at Glenwood Middle School for a year before coming to the high school. Diekmann was attracted to Glenwood because of the “great leadership and direction.” He now teaches ninth through twelfth athletic enhancement at the high school.

Diekman is from Nebraska, Lincoln and graduated from Peru State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in K-12 Physical Education. He spent the first 10 years of his career teaching at Shenandoah High School.

Uniquely, Diekmann’s wife is also a teacher in the Glenwood school district. Heather Diekmann teaches third grade at the West Elementary. They have a four-year-old son, Myles, who is in pre-school. Diekmann loves spending time with his family whenever he can.
