Two students were awarded for their photography skills at the Iowa Western Juried Art Competition; sophomore Gavin Biermann and senior Sydney Biermann.

Both Gavin and Sydney received a gold medal and a merit.

I was a little surprised about the gold award I received, and this is my fourth year competing in this show,” said Sydney Biermann.

Sydney Biermann has entered the competition every year since she was a freshman.

“I love being able to capture enjoyable moments that I can share with other people,” said Sydney Biermann. “I take pictures whenever I can, and I have no specific spot.”

Gavin Biermann was unavailable for an interview.
