After qualifying for the state tournament last season, the girls’ tennis team is ready to get back on the court. The Lady Rams are returning their entire top seven on varsity in senior Ellie Osterloh, junior Brooklyn Taylor, junior Erin Stanley, senior Ruby Crow, junior Brielle Smith, senior Sierra Stouder and junior Cameron Rounds.

Head Coach Callie Ohm said, “This season we are very fortunate to have all of our varsity players back. We also have some promising freshman and a couple of others that have joined us this season. This group of girls makes me very excited about this season.”

Ohm isn’t the only looking forward to the upcoming season.

“I’m really excited about this season, we return all of our varsity  which is awesome. Our team has incredible depth. A lot of teams usually have about two or three good players; I would say our top 7 are great. Also, our one loss in the regular season last year was against Shenandoah but they lost their one and three, so I think we have a good chance against them this year,” said Ellie Osterloh, the Rams number one

The team has high hopes for this upcoming season and is looking to build off of their placement in the state tournament.

“Last year was a great year making it as far as we did as a whole team, but one of the biggest goals for us this year is making it to state as a team and go farther than we did last year,” said Erin Stanley.

The Lady Rams play their first match at home April 5 at 4:00 P.M.
